Bumble Bee Foods, LLC, and two of its managers are facing criminal charges in the death of a worker. Prosecutors in Los Angeles brought the charges on Monday. They stem from the death of Jose Molina who was accidently cooked in an oven along with 6 tons of tuna. Molina was performing maintenance on the oven in the early morning hours of Oct. 11th, 2012. A coworker loaded 12,000 lbs. of tuna into the pressure cooker, not realizing Molina was inside. He was cooked for two hours at a temperature of 270 degrees before his body was discovered. NBC News reports, the Bumble Bee, plant Operations Director Angel Rodriguez and former safety manager Saul Florez each face three counts of violating OSHA rules that resulted in a death. Rodriguez, and Florez each could be fined up to $250,000, while the company faces a potential fine of 1.5 million.
