Breastfeeding In Public: Natural? Tacky? [OPINION]

The topic of breastfeeding in public came up the other day at dinner, and some of the people at the table thought it was natural and okay, others thought it was tacky.

If you are reading this, you are probably female (I am going by what our ratings tell us: we have more female listeners than male).  I thought that most females would be okay with the idea of breastfeeding in public, but in the totally un-scientific, high-margin-of-error impromptu survey I took the other night, I found out that I was mistaken.

More of the women at the table thought that breastfeeding in public was tacky.  There were 7 women at the table, and 5 of them said "tacky".   I was shocked at their position on the subject until after I found out that they were "taught" that it was tacky by their mother/mother figure; then, I totally understood why they continued to think that way.

I wonder if they would change their minds if they viewed this video.

My favorite scene from the film is when she is eating her salad with a blankie over her head!!
