New White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci has been removed from his post.

National news outlets report on White House Chief of Staff John Kelly's first day on the job, he advised President Donald Trump to ask for Scaramucci's resignation.

In the words of the White House announcement, he was leaving because he "felt it was best to give Chief of Staff John Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team."

Scaramucci recently replaced Sean Spicer as communications director.

Trump announced Kelly replaced Reince Priebus as Chief of Staff Friday afternoon.
