We’ve all rolled our eyes at one time or another as TV creators liken their work to “a 73-hour movie,” especially when it devalues the episode as a medium. Breaking Bad in particular has many standout hours that couldn’t function any other way, but some lunatic fans have now recut all 62 episodes into one two-hour film, and it … kind of works?

Keep in mind that Breaking Bad is, and always will be a series worthy of your full investment, but for those absolutely unwilling to commit the time, filmmakers Lucas Stoll and Gaylor Morestin offer an alternative version – the two-hour cut of Walter White’s rise and fall!

Here, the pair laid out their reasoning:

What if Breaking Bad was a movie? After two years of sleepless nights of endless editing, we bring you the answer to that very question. A study project that became an all-consuming passion. It’s not a fan-film, hitting the highlights of show in a home-made homage, but rather a re-imagining of the underlying concept itself, lending itself to full feature-length treatment. An alternative Breaking Bad, to be viewed with fresh eyes.

Creator Vince Gilligan has yet to weigh in on their work, but feel free to sit through the two-hour version above, and follow it up with a full 62-episode marathon. It’s what Walt would have wanted.
