BP Sues U.S. Government
BP is suing the Federal government. The company recently pled guilty to manslaughter and other criminal charges related to the 2010 Blowout of its Macondo well that killed 11 workers and spewed millions of barrels of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico.
The company has been barred from getting new federal contracts to supply fuel and other services.
The Houston Chronicle reports BP is seeking an injunction to lift an order by the EPA, suspending the company from obtaining such contracts. The lawsuit was filed Monday in Houston federal court.
The EPA, and Justice Department have reportedly declined to comment.
