According to a new study, which was presented yesterday at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting in Denver, Colorado, almost one-half of parents or caregivers say they've had a child who was able to unbuckle their car safety seat, and half of those incidents happened while the car was moving! Most of them were boys and they were under the age of three! Researchers say most of the kids were only able to unbuckle the top buckle, so they were still at least partially secure. Experts say parents and caregivers should make sure they're buckling up their precious cargo properly and that they should talk to them about the risk of trying to escape!
