Blake Shelton Tells Leno He Was Glad He Got to Skip Kelly Clarkson’s Wedding
Blake Shelton was the couch guest on 'The Tonight Show With Jay Leno' tonight (Nov. 20), promoting the home stretch of Season 5 of 'The Voice.' He spoke about the heated competition between coaches, and he also joked about his pal Kelly Clarkson's wedding.
Of course, the host referenced his bromance partner Adam Levine being named PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive for 2013. How could he not? "He's got some feminine qualities about him," Shelton said when asked if he is attracted to Levine. Those two -- such kidders.
But the country star also revealed just how thick the competition is this season, especially since he has notched three wins and his co-coaches are gunning for him.
He joked that the internal coach competition on the show is so thick that his fellow coaches have veered off the path, since they are more worried about beating him than they are about developing their artists. Zing!
Shelton also spoke about how he was supposed to officiate Clarkson's wedding to his manager, Brandon Blackstock, but that didn't happen since the couple changed their plans. He wasn't bummed, though. "I got to avoid going to a wedding," he said after Clarkson and Blackstock chose to elope. "I'd rather go to a dentist."
He did officiate his sister's nuptials, though he questioned the legality of it all!
