Black Bear And Cub Spotted In New Iberia Subdivision

If you live in or near the Southwood Park Subdivision, be on the lookout for a mother bear and her cub.

Deputies the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries agents are searching for two black bears spotted in a subdivision Tuesday afternoon.

Officials report that they received calls from residents about a female bear and her cub in the area of Southwood Park Subdivision.

Wildlife and Fisheries responded to the call yesterday but report that the bears haven't been since the first report yesterday. W&F agents do not believe that there is any cause for alarm but urge residents to be cautious.
