Bike Lafayette Holds First Membership Meeting
Bike Lafayette’s First Membership Meeting to be held on September 18, 2013 at the Rosa Parks Transportation Center from 6 to 8 p.m. (Social to follow at Jefferson Street Pub.)
The meeting will focus on Bike Lafayette’s development as a new nonprofit corporation.
Their objective is to engage broader participation in the organization’s activities to keep pace with ever growing demand for a bike friendly Lafayette and build a self-sustaining, local bicycling advocacy organization.
Current board members will introduce themselves, provide an overview of the organization’s accomplishments and challenges to date, and share plans for the coming year. Their aim is to invite cycling community input and feedback, and provide concrete opportunities for community members to get involved. Specifically, they will solicit membership of new standing committees to perform key organizational functions, including Membership/Volunteers, Communications, Rides/Events, Government Relations, and Community Outreach. They’ll also take nominations for and vote on new board members.
The meeting is open to the public, but only Bike Lafayette members may vote. If you are unsure of your current membership status, email email@example.com To join or renew, go to www.bikelafayette.org
