I've been a fan of Betty White since the Mary Tyler Moore Show. (Don't bother with the math! I watched in utero) It's often said you have to be a really good actor to portray an idiot. Betty's characterization of the dingy Rose Nylund on "The Golden Girls" was pretty good evidence of that. Betty's "Hot In Cleveland" character Elka Ostrovsky, bears a sharp contrast to Rose.
