About a month ago, I learned of a documentary called "Legends of the Knight." The film focuses on people who have been inspired by the DC Comics character Batman to become real-life heroes. Among those people spotlighted in the documentary is Miles Scott, a.k.a. "Batkid," whose battle with leukemia gained national attention last year.

In honor of Batman's 75th anniversary, I'll be presenting a screening of "Legends of the Knight" at 7:30 PM on May 1st, 2014 at The Grand 16 on Johnston Street.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds from tickets sold will be donated to the work of Faith House of Acadiana, which provides safety, shelter, empowerment and advocacy to survivors of domestic violence in our community. You can also make an additional donation to Faith House when you make your ticket purchase.
