Memorial Day is here!  Memorial Day originated after the Civil War, in remembrance of fallen soldiers.  It was once referred to as Decoration Day and is always celebrated on the last Monday in May.

Those of you who have flags in front of your homes or businesses, remember, today, American flags are flown at half-mast until noon, then raised to full-staff for the rest of the day.

There will be plenty of backyard barbeques today.  Memorial Day is the second most popular holiday for grilling after the 4th of July.

Traffic will be bad today, as an estimated 35 million Americans left home this weekend and will be returning today.  Please drive safely.

So today when you are enjoying great food and the outdoors with family and/or friends, remember the men and women who have lost their lives and those who continue to risk theirs for our freedom and safety.

Happy Memorial Day!
