Michael Dot Scott

I've got your workdays covered 10am to 3pm here on 97.3 The Dawg. I've been described as a "hot mess on a cold night". Tune in and you'll hear why. Born in Metairie, grew up in Alexandria, but I've spent over half of my life here in Lafayette. The best things about me are my incredible wife and three amazing kids. I still can't figure out how I've become lucky enough to be a part of their lives. I've always been fascinated with music in a way that's hard for me to define with words. Since I was very young I've been drawn to great melodies, lyrics and story telling so naturally I've been drawn to Country music for as long as I can remember. I wouldn't call myself a musician, but have been playing guitar since I was about 13-years-old. Guitar is like a never ending puzzle for me to keep trying to figure out. I also enjoy Zombies, peanut butter and trying to take left turns on Johnston St.

12-year-old Ananya Vinay of California won the Scripps National Spelling Bee the other night, but a Louisiana word almost stood in her way of spelling bee glory. Catfish Courtbouillon? Belizaire The Cajun? Nope, it was a Louisiana word I couldn't have got right even if my mom's bread pudding recipe was on the line...
