I'm a native New Englander, but I've lived in South Louisiana all my adult life. I don't know if that makes me THE authority on sports in Acadiana, but I've certainly seen my share. I've hosted the show "Bird's Eye View" on ESPN1420 since 1998 from 3-4 pm and your phone calls and opinions are always welcome. I also co-host "The Sports Gap" with Scott Prather, daily from 4-5pm. Doing a daily radio show and traveling nearly 50 nights a year with the Cajuns doesn't leave a ton of spare time, but when I get a chance, you'll find me either in the kitchen or grilling on the back patio. I love to cook. And, while Food Network hasn't offered me a slot with my own show, I haven't poisoned anyone yet.

ESPN and several New Orleans media outlets are reporting the New Orleans Saints have restructured the contract of quarterback Drew Brees to free up some salary cap space.
The report says a a portion of Brees' salary is being converted into a signing bonus, which frees up some money for this year, but will place a bigger burden on the cap next year.
