“His mom was from Cow Island, his dad from Bosco… the kid really never stood a chance”…
John “JayCee” Falcon has been with 99.9 KTDY for the past 12 years. A native of Abbeville, he got his ‘radio’ feet wet at KROF after having served 5 years in the United States Army. His original duties at KTDY included hosting the afternoon show as he still does today, but his background soon led him to tackling engineering duties throughout the building, not just in the studio. JayCee is also very involved in the Acadiana community. He hosts and is a part of a multitude of fundraisers, including MDA, The Acadiana Society for Autistic Citizens, the Lions Club, Vermilion Association for the Physically Handicapped, and the Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk. He also helps with several Veterans organizations including the Acadiana Cares 4 Troops Care Package Drive, Vietnam Veterans of America, the Wounded Warrior Project, and he was instrumental in organizing volunteers to line the streets for the funeral procession for a local fallen soldier. JayCee’s fundraising took a personal turn after losing his mother to asthma. He started a non-profit organization, AJRF, primarily for the purpose of raising funds for the American Lung Association of Louisiana. He and his family (he is the youngest of 8) organize and execute the annual ‘jeep jaunt’, now in its 5th year, which has raised over $150,000.00 for the American Lung Association. When JayCee is not on the air, he is hardly still: you can find him doing a number of things, from working on one of his Jeeps to helping family members and friends with projects. JayCee has a love for travel, and tries to find different countries to visit each year. He lives in Youngsville, and has 4 beautiful women in his life (his girlfriend Shannon, and their dogs Violet, Mannie and Tucker). His love for music trumps most, and can usually be found with a radio near his ear.
