According to a press release, the bus driver said a juvenile attempt to board the bus at a bus stop while carrying a gun in his waistband. She quickly pushed the juvenile off of the bus and closed the doors.

LPSS Chief Administrative Officer Joe Craig said, "Through prompt action by the bus driver, the driver was able to close the doors and pull away without any further incident."

As the suspect was exiting the bus, he brandished the gun and pointed it toward the bus that was carrying 15 children.

Then, Thibeaux--who was with the juvenile-- also brandished a gun and pointed it  at the bus.

The two suspects were identified through a photo lineup, Mowell said.

The juvenile was arrested at an address in the 100 block of South Beadle Road. He was subsequently booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on a felony charge of terrorizing.

Mowell said Thibeaux--who has an unrelated active warrant for two counts of attempted second-degree murder--is to be considered armed and dangerous.

If you have any information on Thibeaux's whereabouts, you are urged to call teh Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office at (337) 232-9211 or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at (337) 232-TIPS.

Craig said the school district is continuing to work with the Sheriff's Office and the Lafayette Police Department as the investigation continues.
