Another Victim Dies After Lawn Mower Crash

Rayne Chief of Police Carrol Stelly announced via press release this morning that another person has died as a result of crash with a lawn mower.

The second victim, 17-year-old Joshua Bourque who was riding in the wheelchair behind the mower, succumbed to his injuries.

The crash happened Sunday evening on American Legion Drive as a truck hit the mower from behind.

Wilbert Bourque Jr. died at the time of the crash.

Officers say that Wilbert Bourque was operating the lawn mower with one man on the hood and Joshua Bourque in a wheelchair being pulled by the lawn mower when a truck hit them.
