If you're an Amazon customer, you may be required to reset your password in the wake of hackers attempting to steal insecurely stored passwords.

Fox News is reporting via ZDNet that Amazon has emailed some customers after forcing them to reset their passwords with the following explanation

your [Amazon] password may have been improperly stored on your device or transmitted to Amazon in a way that could potentially expose it to a third party.

The email says that while it has 'no reason' to believe passwords were stolen by third parties, it's requiring the resets out of 'an abundance of caution.'
