A hit-and-run crash turns even worse when the victim tries to take matters into his/her own hands.

According to our news partners at KATC, Lafayette Police say it began when a driver allegedly hit a car on Johnston Street at Doucet Road and fled the scene. Authorities say the victim lost control of the vehicle while following the suspect and crashed into the house.

Fortunately, there were no injuries and no one was home, but the victim was cited for careless operation, while the suspect was cited for careless operation and hit and run.
