The NCAA will restore the title of "all time winningest coach" to the late Joe Paterno of Penn State. The Associated Press reports, the school's 112 wins vacated in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal will be restored. Sandusky is currently serving a 30 - 60 year prison term. Paterno passed away in January, 2012. The agreement supersedes a 2012 consent decree that was about to be tried in federal court. The agreement stipulates that a $60 million dollar fine leveled against the university be spent entirely for aid to child abuse victims within the state of Pennsylvania. The school's full compliment of football scholarships have been restored. The board reportedly didn't want further delays in the disbursement of those funds. NCAA boardmember Harris Pastides said "While others will focus on the return of wins, our top priority is on protecting, educating and nurturing young people."
