An all female crew spent 9 months rowing from California to Australia. They are the first all woman rowing crew to cross the the South Pacific in a rowboat. The Coxless Crew of Laura Penhurst, Emma Mitchell and Natalia Cohen, Isabel Burnham, Lizanne van Vuuren and Meg Dyos rotated 1-1/2 hour rowing shifts. They left San Francisco last April, arriving in Cairns, Australia on January 24th. Mashable.com reports, the nearly 9,000 mile journey was undertaken as a fundraiser for Breast Cancer Care, and Walking With the Wounded.
