The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter I052 is hosting an Agent Orange Town Hall Meeting on Saturday May ll, 2013 in Amite.

The Amite High School auditorium has been provided with the hours of 9am- 3pm for this one day local event.

Knowledgeable speakers and recent literature concerning the Agent Orange continuing tragedy will be provided. This one day local event is targeted at alerting surviving Vietnam War Veterans, Korean War Veterans and especially their descendants of their potential health hazard jeopardy.

The National Vietnam Veterans of American (VVA) organization is providing guidance in the offering of this local event and is a first for Louisiana and an honor for Tangipahoa Parish and the citizens of Amite.

The United States Department of Defense has designated the years 2013 and2014 as the 50th year anniversary commemoration of the Vietnam War with nationwide local events honoring Vietnam War Armed Service Member Veterans. The Amite VVA Town hall meeting coincides with the 50th year DOD observation and is provided without cost to attendees. Refreshments will be provided in both the am & pm sessions.
