Acadiana School Closures for May 4, 2017

It was quite the day yesterday throughout south Louisiana as we were all inundated with heavy rains throughout the day and night.

Many school systems closed at some point yesterday. Most are back open today, however, there are a few that will remain closed.

Here are the school closures for Thursday, May 4th:

• Vermilion Parish public schools
• Jeff Davis Parish public schools
• Evangeline Parish public schools
• Leonville Elementary (due to power outage)
• Maltrait Memorial Catholic School in Kaplan
• All Vermilion Parish Head Start centers and its central offices
• Sam's Kids Safari in Abbeville - all locations
• Bethel Christian School in Jennings
• Vermilion Catholic High School in Abbeville
• Mount Carmel School in Abbeville
• Sacred Heart in Ville Platte
• Little Giraffes in Ville Platte
