Acadiana Man Prepares For The Fight Of His Life

One of Acadiana's own needs our help. Cory Guidry has been battling Leukemia for three years now, and is preparing for a bone marrow transplant. It's a painful, extremely costly procedure with a long recovery process. A donor has been located in Europe, and Cory travels to Houston March 10th for preliminary testing. The procedure is a gamble that will temporarily compromise Cory's immune system. During that time, he will be dangerously vulnerable to infection and illness.
KATC reports more than $30,000 has been raised of the $100,00 needed to help Cory in his fight.  A benefit concert, headlined by Marc Broussard, will be held May 10th at The District on Johnston Street. There will be an auction, featuring a football autographed by Brett Favre, a weekend fishing expedition, and a weekend  getaway to Florida, to see & meet the Zac Brown Band.
