An 84 year old nun has been sentenced to 35 months in prison for breaking into a nuclear weapons facility in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Sister Megan Rice and two other activists broke into the complex to expose flaws in its security system. It contains the U.S. Government's primary supply of weapons grade uranium.

Once inside, they hung banners, painted messages on wall, and splattered bottles of human blood inside the facility. Reuters reports the break-in triggered alarms, but it took security nearly 2 hours to apprehend the intruders.

At sentencing, Rice told the judge, "Please have no leniency with me. To remain in prison for the rest of my life would be the greatest gift you could give me."
