There are two weeks remaining in the 2017 high school football season.

6 Acadiana area teams are still playing for state titles in the respective classifications, with two hosting games this weekend.

Keep in mind, 32 teams qualified for the playoffs in each of the five Non-Select divisions, with the exception of the Class 1A bracket, which features 31, while the four Select divisions feature different numbers of teams in their respective brackets.

Non-select teams will enter semifinal round play this weekend, while the Select schools will have bye weeks, in order the prepare for their respective state championships the following week.

We'll begin with quarterfinal action in the Non-Select Division. 

Class 5A

In Class 5A, there is one team left; as the Acadiana Wreckin' Rams, the #3-seed, will play host to #10-seed Hahnville in the semifinals on Friday night.

West Monroe, the top-seed in the 5A bracket, will host 4th-seeded Zachary.

Class 4A

In Class 4A,  the Rayne Wolves remain.

Rayne, the #11-seed, will travel to take on #2-seed Lakeshore.

The top-seed in the 4A bracket is Edna Karr, will host 4th-seeded Warren Easton.

Class 3A

In Class 3A, the Kaplan Pirates are still alive in the playoffs.

#5-seed Kaplan will entertain #8-seed Richwood.

The other Class 3A semifinal will feature #6-seed West Feliciana hosting #10-seed Jennings.

Class 2A

In Class 2A, unfortunately, there are no local schools left.

Welsh is the top-seed in the Class 2A bracket.

Class 1A

Wrapping up the Non-Select divisions, we go to Class 1A, where no Acadiana area schools remain.

West St. John is the top-seed in the Class 1A bracket.

Now, we move we move on to play in the Select divisions.

Again, Select teams will be idle this week, with a week to prepare for their respective state title games.

Division I

In Division I, where 13 teams began, there are no local teams remaining.

2nd-seeded John Curtis will face 4th-seeded Catholic-Baton Rouge in the state championship game on Saturday, December 9 at noon.

Division II

In Division II, no local teams remain in the 14-team field.

Top-seeded De La Salle will take on 2nd-seeded University Lab in the finals.

Division III

In Division III, Notre Dame and Catholic-New Iberia are the lone teams left in the 13-team field.

Notre Dame, the top-seed, will face Catholic-New Iberia, the #3-seed, on Thursday, December 7, for the state crown.

Finally, in Division IV, where 16 teams made the playoffs, only Lafayette Christian is still alive.

#4-seed Lafayette Christian will square off with #6-seed Ascension Catholic in the state title game on Thursday, December 7.
