A lot of people have been asking me my what I thought of 'Guardians of the Galaxy' as they know I'm a big comic book and comic book movie fan. Here's my very brief review for those who are on the fence about going to see what seems to be an odd but very funny looking movie.

  •  Accessibility: You don't have to know anything about comic books at all to enjoy 'Guardians of the Galaxy.' While it's based on a comic book, it's a sci-fi movie and provides you with everything you need to know to enjoy the movie.
  • Appeal: Outside of children under thirteen who might be too young for some of the action and language (the 's-word' is used a few times), 'Guardians' is a movie that has something for everyone: action, adventure, romance, and plenty of laughs. The movie also has a tremendous amount of heart and even the most jaded moviegoer will find their heartstrings plucked by the characters in the movie.
  • Music: Fans of music of the 70s and 80s will love the fact that some of the best tunes of those eras provide the soundtrack for 'Guardians.' Songs like 'Hooked On A Feeling,' 'Spirit In The Sky,' 'I Want You Back,' and 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough' play an important role to the movie and one its main characters. The soundtrack is named for a mix tape in the movie called "Super Awesome Mix Vol. 1' and is well worth buying. You can preview all the tracks here.
