LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- Nineteen students have been arrested in connection with alleged vandalism at Comeaux High School over the weekend.

Lafayette Parish School System administrators say the student violators are all seniors and will be charged with criminal trespassing and mischief.

Those students, some of them eligible for graduation, will be subject to "behavior consequences," officials said.

Comeaux High School principal Joe Craig told KATC TV-3 that those students will be required to perform community service around the campus this week. If they complete the service, they would be allowed to walk during next Saturday's graduation ceremony, Craig said..

School system officials said vulgar pictures and words, including phallic symbols, were drawn on school buildings.
