15-Year-Old Madison Fruge' Asking For Donations For Her Trip To St. Jude

Maddison "Maddie" Fruge' is a 15-year-old who witnessed something while hospitalized and decided she would do something about it.

Maddie experienced a brain injury due to a sporting accident when she was 12. She spent weeks in the hospital after losing her ability to walk and do some everyday tasks. She also had temporary loss of vision and to this day has not regained 65% of her early memories.

While in the hospital over Thanksgiving, Maddie saw children in the hospital alone with no family. She herself couldn't imagine being in the hospital without family especially on such a special holiday. That's when, this now 15-year-old, created a charity called "Maddie's Gifts of Hope".

Maddie finds out from hospitals what children need to make their stay in the hospital as normal and as comforting as possible. She collects items locally and then delivers these much needed items.

The last week of March, in about a month, Maddie and her family will be traveling to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital in Memphis. Maddie is currently looking for items (as suggested by St. Jude).
