I personally don't think it's that hard to be a law abiding citizen in the great state of Louisiana, even though we have some rather crazy laws on the books. Below is a short list of things that I'm betting you probably didn't know you shouldn't be doing. And yes, they are real laws. You've been warned...

  • You Cannot Tie an Alligator to a Fire Hydrant
  • Electric Wires Cannot be Tied to Trees
  • Urinating in the City Water Supply is Illegal
  • Rituals That Involve Ingesting Blood, Urine or Fecal Matter are not Legal
  • Unless Accompanied by an Adult, Minors Cannot Enter a Business with Coin Operated Foosball Machines
  • It is Illegal to Pour a Drink Out on the Ground at Any Drive In Movie (good luck finding a drive in movie!)
  • Mardi Gras Beans Cannot be Thrown From a Third Story Window
  • Saying Obscene Things on the Telephone is Illegal
  • Horses Cannot be Tied to a Tree on a Public Highway
  • Making a False Promise is Illegal, and Could Land You in Jail for Up to a Year
